The ME-RV series
The housing of the ME-RV series is made entirely of A4 stainless steel. A separate valve section ensures extra long maintenance intervals. With up to 5.2 kg of desiccant, the adsorbers of the series can also efficiently ventilate large hydraulic tanks in offshore use, as well as gearboxes in the chemical industry and storage tanks. Use in accordance with ATEX product directive 2014/34/EU in zone II 2 G / D IIC T4 is also possible, as is use in accordance with corrosivity category CX. On gearboxes or hydraulic tanks on ship decks, the valves protect the desiccant as well as oils and lubricants from contamination and damage by water during wave action. Due to the optimized design, ME-RV adsorbers can be maintained very quickly and at low cost. The wearing parts or the desiccant are quickly replaced and the protection of the plant to be ventilated is restored.

Mode of operation

Adsorption – Drying of the supply air
- The level in the system decreases
- Humid air is sucked in
- Valves open at approx. 6 mbar
- Uniform flow through the adsorber
- Air is dried to 2%rH
- Silica gel changes color
- Air is filtered to 3μm
Dry and clean supply air

Desorption – Separation of oil particles
- The level in the system increases
- Dry, oily air is squeezed out
- Activated carbon absorbs oil mist
- Dry, oil-free air regenerates the silica gel
- Silica gel partially recolors
Self-regeneration and oil-free exhaust air

Flowchart
The sucked-in air opens the valves in the lower part of the adsorber already at approx. 6 mbar. After flowing into the adsorber, the air is distributed evenly over the cross-section. The pre-filter disk frees the air from coarse dirt particles.
When the desiccant silica gel flows through, the water molecules are reliably removed from the air. The gap volume of the granulate is optimally selected with 2 to 5 mm grains and guarantees a minimum pressure build-up with simultaneous very good drying efficiency. Thus, at the beginning of the drying process, a residual air humidity of max. 2 % rH and a dew point of -40 °C are achieved. Due to the water absorption, the silica gel in the standard changes color from orange to green. A complete green coloration indicates the end of the product life cycle. The 3 µm filter ensures that all dirt particles are separated from the ambient air and the silica gel and that the connected equipment is not contaminated.
In the case of outgoing air, the two-stage sloshing protection prevents larger oil droplets from penetrating the desiccant. The activated carbon also adsorbs the finest oil particles, thus enabling the adsorber to regenerate itself.
ME-RV adsorbers are made of A4 stainless steel, silica gel orange, FKM or EPDM seals and can be used for aeration of all common hydraulic and gear oils, lubricants, fuels as well as isocyanates. In addition, SKYDROL, brake fluids and solvents, for example, can be aerated with this series.

Spare part kits

Sustainability starts with using product components for as long as their life cycle allows and replacing only those components that show signs of wear. With our spare parts kits for the refillable adsorber series, we ensure that you can replace each individual component of an adsorber as needed.
For example, the desiccant in our adsorbers becomes loaded during use, increasingly loses its ability to adsorb moisture and needs to be replaced, but the adsorber housing is particularly durable. Our refillable adsorbers can therefore be easily opened and the desiccant replaced. Seals, particle filters & activated carbon discs, on the other hand, can withstand a few replacement cycles, depending on the load. However, we recommend replacing them after 4-5 replacement cycles at the latest to ensure smooth operation of the adsorbers.
Our spare parts kits include seals, particle filters, activated carbon discs and other components that match the respective adsorber series. The matching desiccants for the adsorbers are available separately and in different size classes.
