In principle, it is possible to install an adsorber to dry the supply air on a compressor. However, it is absolutely not recommended. Due to the large amount of air that a compressor draws in, an average-sized adsorber would be loaded with 3kg of silica gel within a very short time and would require maintenance. This enormous maintenance effort is out of proportion to the benefit. It is more advantageous to insert an adsorber in the compressed air line after the compressor, since the adsorption dryer installed on the compressor separates the large amount of water.
