Overview Accessories & Desiccants.
Flange Adapter
Suitable flange adapters are available for mounting a GIEBEL adsorber on a hydraulic tank. In versions 3x M5 with bolt circle 41 mm or 6x M5 with bolt circle 73 mm according to DIN 42557 and flange version DN25, GIEBEL adsorbers can be easily mounted on all existing hydraulic systems.
The flanges are supplied with a suitable seal made of NBR, FKM or EPDM as well as the stainless steel screws.
Sensor
Ventilation dryers are indispensable to prevent the occurrence of condensation water damage. However, the effective and predictive maintenance of these filters is only possible if the monitoring of the filter loading is signaled in such a way that the filter change does not cause unplanned downtime. The GS24-A monitors the filter loading condition. The information pre-warning (filter loaded to 75%) and change (filter loaded to 100%) are output via a 4-20 mA interface.
IBC Cover
For mounting a GIEBEL adsorber on an IBC container, the appropriate cover can be used. Available in nominal sizes 150 and 225, the matching threaded sleeve for the breathing dryer is integrated.
Suction lance
With the use of a suction lance, a barrel pump and bypass filter system can be connected to hydraulic tanks and the substance can be removed very easily directly from the bottom. The simultaneous use of a GIEBEL Adsorber dries the incoming air and protects the plant from humidity. Available with a BSP 2″ thread for 216.5 liter barrels and according to DIN24557 for hydraulic tanks, the suction lance is resistant to numerous substances.
Filling adapter
The use of a filling adapter allows easy refilling of oil in a hydraulic unit or gearbox. The 40 mm filler neck makes it easy to fill in the oil without having to remove the adsorber. The filling adapter can be supplied in a 41 mm or 73 mm pitch circle for hydraulic tanks or with a screw thread for gearboxes and contains all components required for assembly, such as sieves, gaskets and screws.
Oil separator
By using an oil separator, a GIEBEL adsorber is protected from contamination by larger oil particles. Used on systems with a high oil mist outlet, the proportion of evaporating oil particles is reduced with the oil separator and the air is cooled down. This protects both the adsorber and the environment from damaging oil vapor. In addition, the oil separator acts as a protective component against the spilling of oil from the hydraulic tank or gearbox.
Wall Mount
The wall bracket is suitable for the flexible installation of GIEBEL adsorbers with limited space available on the system. As a screw-on version for concrete walls, with clamping claws for steel girders or as a suspension version for grids or fences, no conversion measures are necessary on the system for the use of an adsorber. In addition, the wall mount with matching hose and connecting components can be carried out to optimally adapt to the existing environment.
Valve adapter
The valve adapter is used when an adsorber is mounted on the hydraulic tank of mobile machines with a Tank preload of 0.03 and 0.3 and 0.5 bar, such as an excavator. The adapter maintains the existing tank preload and thus ensures a smooth operation of the machines.
Ventilation system
If a tank is filled without gas recirculation, the air must be able to escape unhindered from the tank. This ensures the ventilation system. This way, there is no overpressure in the tank. In combination with a GIEBEL adsorber, the inflowing incoming air is dried in the tank and the substance is protected against contamination with water.
Mounting adapter
The use of a mounting adapter enables the installation of a GIEBEL adsorber on a horizontal drum and, in case of a given lack of space, on hydraulic units and gears. This is achieved for example by a horizontal or offset installation or elevation by 250mm. The GIEBEL Adsorber can thus be aligned in the desired direction and fixed with the lock nut.
Protection adapter
By using a protective adapter to monitor a GIEBEL adsorber, an optical or electronic signal is transmitted if the negative pressure is too high. This makes it possible to see whether a filter needs to be replaced. For effective protection, moreover, this assembly can be equipped with protection valves with an opening pressure of 150 mbar, in order to ensure the air exchange of the system if the pressure is too high or too high, if the ventilation filter is completely blocked.
Protection hood
To protect a GIEBEL Adsorber even in very harsh environments, this stainless steel accessory is used. The protective cover allows the use of standard ventilation dryers in mines, on ship decks, on construction sites and many other fields of application. A simple visual inspection of the adsorber as well as maintenance is possible without any restrictions.
Sleeves & Reductions
For flexible assembly of a GIEBEL adsorber all common adapters are offered. Whether with internal threads or mixed shapes, as well as all materials (e.g. aluminum, stainless steel, polypropylene, nylon, etc.), these adapters meet all the requirements of the respective system. BSP G, BSP R, NPT, metric or other thread types solve all design challenges.
Silica gel orange-green
Silica gels are the most commonly used desiccants and consist of 99% silicon dioxide (SiO2). As desiccant in adsorbers for the ventilation of hydraulic aggregates, gears, storage tanks, transformers, etc., silica gel with the color indicator orange-green is best suited.
Silica gel orange-colorless
Due to its high porosity, narrow-pored silica gel has a large internal surface. The pore structure is not uniform, the funnel-shaped openings allow the loading of water molecules in several layers . Thus it is preferably used as a drying agent. The silica gel orange-colorless has a weaker color change, which takes place with a later loading. It discolours with a water load of approx. 20-25%.
Silica gel white
Due to its extreme hydrophilicity (attraction of polar substances such as water) and simple regeneration by raising the temperature to approx. 150°C, Silica gel is preferably used as a drying agent. It shows excellent absorption capacity and can therefore adsorb large amounts of water from the air. The maximum capacity is approx. 37 % of the dry weight of the bulk material. The silica gel white has no color indicator.
Activated carbon
Activated carbon has a porous structure and a large inner surface, on whose molecules can attach themselves. The surface is essentially non-polar, hydrophobic and has an affinity for organic adsorptives such as fatty acids, alcohols and esters. Due to the hydrophobic surface properties, the adsorption of water vapour at low concentrations is very low – so it is suitable for the treatment of humid gases or air. It is used, among other things, in ventilation dryers for hydraulics, in cooker hoods and in respiratory masks.
Molecular sieves
Molecular sieves are desiccants with very specific properties. They are synthetically produced alumina silicates. Zeolites are distinguished on the basis of their crystal lattice structure, as they have pores of different sizes.
